A third consecutive Champion Australian Merino All Purpose Ram title at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show for the Poll Boonoke Stud was a great result for the AFA Stud Team, made all the more exciting with Wanganella 220310 judged to be the Reserve Champion Australian Merino All Purpose Ram behind Poll Boonoke 221447.
In addition to his All Purpose title, Poll Boonoke 221447 (Burt) was also the Champion March Shorn Medium Wool Poll Ram, the Reserve Champion Medium Wool Poll Merino Ram and the Reserve Junior Champion Medium Wool Ram. Sired by M200032 out of PB160501, Burt has figures of FD 16.4, SD 2.6, CV 16.1, CF 99.8, EMD 44.0 and Fat 7.5. Burt’s point score in the Australian Merino All Purpose competition, which is judged by both a wool and meat judge, is a record for the competition to date.
Wanganella 220310 (Hoover) is a son of the stand out Wanganella sire 200231. He tested at FD 17.8, SD 2.9, CV 16.1, CF 100.0, EMD 40.5 & Fat 6.5 and matched his Reserve Champion All Purpose ribbon with the Reserve Champion March Shorn Medium Wool Merino Ram ribbon.
