The Kamballie and Manunda Poll Studs, both at Tammin in Western Australia, purchased Poll Boonoke 180137 in conjunction for $70,000 in a private sale negotiated at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show and facilitated by Landmark.
Looking for an impact Poll sire for their breeding operations, the Principals of the Kamballie and Manunda Poll Studs, along with Classer Mitchell Crosby, favoured Poll Boonoke 180137 for his solid body structure, outstanding wool production characteristics and good growth potential.
A double poll ET lamb by Poll Boonoke sire 130028, PB180137 has fleece measurements of FD 19.1, SD 3.6, CV 18.8 and CF 99.0. Weighing 119.5 kg heading off to Bendigo for the Australian Sheep & Wool Show, PB180137 was in the top 1% for YCFW, top 5% for YWT and MP+ index and top 10% for DP+ index in the 7 July 2019 Merino Select Database Analysis. The grand sire of PB180137, on his dam’s side, was the outstanding wool ram PB100001, a Poll Boonoke ram sold in 2011 for $50,000 to a trio of South Australian Studs.
